The One Housing Service Desk provides support and service expertise to Housing Associations/Authorities across the UK and business alike that enable housing organisations to easily handle every key aspect of their business - from allocations, rent accounting and voids, to repairs and asset management.

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our diverse team in the UK. The primary focus for this role is to manage incidents and deliver a successful customer experience. To be successful in this role, you will have application support experience, a creative and problem-solving mindset.

This is a home-based role within the UK.

Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • Analysing applications within the OPEN/ONE housing framework and providing solutions to outstanding issues raised

  • Recreating user’s issues in a test environment to provide root cause analysis and possible fixes.

  • Writing and editing custom code to fix underlying issues with clients’ applications within the open housing framework, this program will be written in either PSQL or SQL depending on the clients’ version.

  • Populating the databases within SSRS with SQL program files in the form of folios for custom processes to be automated.

  • Liaising with Business and Technical Consultants, Knowledge Specialists and to identify workarounds, solutions, and opportunities for knowledge creation.

  • Providing proper documentation of every update or change made to a client’s environment in case a need for Rollback arises.

  • Performance testing and optimizing of clients’ applications, this will include DRS testing, query testing for SQL Management studio and any client specific applications within the open housing framework.

What we’re looking for:

  • Capita Open Housing or modules relating to

  • Data interrogation and analysis such as Excel, CSV, XML, or SQL

  • Knowledge of database and SQL and PSQL Statements

  • Application Support experience

  • Excellent communication skills, being able to convey complex and difficult issues both verbally and in writing to customers with varying levels of technical expertise

  • Excellent and proven analytical, process-oriented, organizational and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

 Experience with any of the following technologies / disciplines

  • SQL Server / SQL Server Management Studio

  • Capita Open Housing

  • Experience of working within Housing associations, charities or authorities

  • Working knowledge in Service Now as ITSM tool

  • Progress Database
